MILAN — Designer Luigi Massi died on Tuesday night in Milan at 56. Local media attributed the death to a heart attack.
Massi worked for Versace for 33 years, contributing to creating many of the brand’s showstopping gowns donned by international celebrities on the red carpet, including Uma Thurman, Angelina Jolie, Lady Gaga, Jennifer Lopez and Amal Clooney.
To honor his memory, Uma Thurman posted a video on her Instagram account while lighting a candle in church, flanked by a caption reading “Missing you Luigi.”
“This Man made every RED Carpet Dress made by Atelier Versace for my whole life, an artist, a beauty, a soul. The world will not be as beautiful without him,” she added in the comment section.
