Tiffany & Co. has opened up shop in Washington, D.C. The jeweler’s first location in the heart of the U.S. capital bowed on March 4 in the CityCenterDC shopping complex at 960 New York Avenue, and measures some 5,000 square feet. Tiffany operates retail locations in nearby Chevy Chase, Md., and Tysons Corner, Va.
“Tiffany & Co.’s first store in Washington, D.C., is both significant for our past, given the brand’s great legacy in the nation’s capital, and for our future, as it’s one of our most important store openings of the year in North America,” said Tiffany’s chief executive officer Alessandro Bogliolo.
“Washington, D.C., has played a significant role in Tiffany & Co.’s history. Historical figures, presidential leaders and first ladies have donned our designs. In fact, Tiffany designed some of the most important U.S. seals in American history, including the Great Seal of the U.S., which can be seen on the dollar bill,” said Alexandra Winokur, Tiffany’s group vice president, northern America Retail.
