Scuola Orafa Ambrosiana to Open New School in Milan

MILAN — Continuing to preserve Milan’s signature goldsmith tradition, the Scuola Orafa Ambrosiana academy is gearing up to inaugurate a new school on Nov. 29.
Established in 1995 by Luca Solari, the Scuola Orafa Ambrosiana offers a wide range of courses for those who want to first approach the world of jewelry-making and then specialize in specific artisanal and technical sectors.
The original location on Milan’s Via Tadino, a stone’s throw from Porta Venezia, was followed by a second school on Via Savona. With the opening of the new spaces, located on nearby Via Tortona, the heart of the city’s design district, the school on Via Savona will be transformed into a goldsmith laboratory. Open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, bank holidays included, it will give students and alumni the chance to manufacture their creations using advanced machines in a safe environment at accessible prices.
“Along with our courses, we have a total of 50 work stations in three different locations, which are all designed to have students and professionals socializing in a friendly environment,” Solari said.
Along with offering amateur classes, the Scuola Orafa Ambrosiana operates the Professional Goldsmithing Course, which requires 148 hours to be completed, as well as the advanced Haute
