Anerley Stabbing: Man, 22, Stabbed To Death In South London's Fourth Knife Death In Five Days

The Metropolitan Police has launched a murder investigation after a 22-year-old man was fatally stabbed in south London.

The incident on Samos Road, Anerley, Bromley, at about 12.30pm on Sunday marks the fourth fatal stabbing in the south of the capital in five days.

On Friday, 17-year-old Malcolm Mide-Madariola was killed outside Clapham South Tube station.

His killing came less than a day after 15-year-old Jay Hughes was pounced on in a “premeditated attack” near a chicken shop in Bellingham.

On Wednesday, Rocky Djelal, 38, died from fatal knife wounds next to a children’s playground at Southwark Park.

Officers were called at 1230hrs today to a man with stab injuries in Samos Road #SE20. The man, whose identity is not yet known, was pronounced dead at the scene. An investigation has commenced to establish the circumstances. There has been no arrest at this stage.

Of the latest wave of violence, Scotland Yard said: “The man, believed to be 22-years-old was found suffering from stab injuries.

“Despite the efforts of emergency services, he was pronounced dead at the scene at around 1300hrs.

“Enquiries are being made to establish his identity and to inform his next of kin.

“A post-mortem examination will be arranged in due course.

“Cordons are in place at the scene, and an urgent investigation is underway.

“There has been no arrest at this stage. Enquiries are ongoing.”

Lewisham West and Penge MP Ellie Reeves tweeted: “Devastated to hear about the murder on Samos Road today. The second murder in my constituency in 72 hours.

Any witnesses are asked to call police on 101, quoting reference CAD 3251 of November 4.
