Dabur India Ltd. Acquires Two Beauty and Wellness Companies

NEW DELHI, India — After making four acquisitions of beauty companies in South Africa within a year, Indian consumer goods company Dabur India Ltd., reported the acquisition of two companies, D and A Cosmetics Proprietary Ltd. and Atlanta Body & Health Products Proprietary Ltd., in South Africa on Wednesday.
The acquisitions were made through its subsidiary Dabur South Africa (Pty) Ltd.
Dabur has been growing its international presence, with approximately 30 percent of its net sales coming from international markets. In the year ended March 31, 2017, Dabur had net sales of rupee 77.70 billion, or $1.16 billion.
In November 2016, Dabur bought the personal-care, hair-care and creams businesses of CTL Group.
It’s first acquisition in South Africa was in July 2016, when it acquired Discaria Trading.
Dabur made its first international acquisition in 2010 buying Hobi Kozmetik Group in Turkey for $69 million. It bought U.S.-based Namaste Laboratories for $100 million later that year.
In February, the company commissioned a new manufacturing plant with an investment of 2,500 million rupees, or $37.50 million, manufacturing plant at Tezpur in Assam.
The facility manufactures the entire range of Dabur’s ayurvedic medicines, health supplements, hair oils, shampoos, toothpastes, skin-care and home-care products.
